-652 homes

-204 commercial spaces -2 bread factories

-2 pharmacies -1 clinic

-2 schools -5 mosques -2 stables -27 vehicles

It was determined that 132 homes and workplaces were damaged by heavy weapons 46 homes, of which 9 were burnt, were deemed to be “heavily damaged”

It was further determined that most of the transformers belonging to Dicle EDAŞ (a power supply company) in the neighborhood of Nur and the City of Cizre’s drinking water distribution network were rendered useless.

21

It should be carefully noted that the following seem to have been particularly targeted by heavy fire, mostly in the Neighborhood of Nur:

BEYTÜŞŞEBAP:

On 25 September 2015, it has been determined that 10 homes have completely burned and become uninhabitable and that hundreds of more homes and workplaces have suffered extensive damage as a result of clashes during which military and police forces have used a vast range of weapons to target the population directly. On the same day at around

10:00AM the village of Setkar (Hisarkapı) had been hit by mortar fire. One of the mortars hit the home of a villager identified as Ahmet TEMEL, causing the deaths of Ahmet Temel, Aliye Temel and Botan Temel have killed. Two other members of the same family were heavily wounded and taken to the hospital.

At 7:00PM on September 28, 2015, the village of Tivor (Dağaltı) was directly targeted by mortar fire by the District Regimental Command. As a result of mortar fire that hit the center of the village, two residents were taken to the hospital: Hakkı Aşan for heavy wounds and Selahattin Aşan for damage to the arm. The emergency service (“112”) did not send an ambulance for the heavily wounded and he was taken to Şırnak’s Regional Hospital by private car.

Moreover, conflicts in the region have led to the closing of several border crossings, such as Habur and Esendere, which by effectively stopping trade has significantly hurt the local economy.

Note: All the discussions we had with local governments and civil society organizations have revealed that work on assessing damages has for the most part not been completed in the regions affected by clashes.
