Eyyup Doru – Official visit in Palma de Mallorca

HDP representative in Europe Eyyup Doru paid a two-day visit to Palma de Mallorca, largest Balearic Islands and autonomous region of Spain, during which he met various representatives of political parties, Parliament, Council as well as city council

Mr Doru was first received by the parliamentary group MES Per Mallorca. He explained the current political situation in Turkey to the different deputies and continued his meeting with a press conference inside the Parliament, after which he received a resolution on the Kurdish question. Mr. Doru then met with the Senior Advisor for Social Services before giving some interviews to journalists.

The following day, the representative of the HDP was received by the mayor of Palma Antoni Noguera and vice-president of the Council of Mallorca Jesus Jurado. Mr. Doru has completed his series of meetings with the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Palma de Mallorca.

During the various exchanges, Mr. Doru traced the situation in Northern Kurdistan in recent years and asked the various political and municipal representatives to send observers in the framework of the early elections of June 24 so they can contribute to guarantee the conduct of the votes in the most fair way possible.

Mr Doru concluded his visits with a conference in the cultural center of Palma which ended with questions and answers with the many journalists present and where Mr Doru especially drew attention to the humanitarian situation of the Kurdish Autonomous Region of Afrin, currently occupied by Turkish military forces. Part of the conference was broadcast on the main Balearic channel TV3.
