For several years now, along with the democratic struggle in Northern Kurdistan, our Party has chosen to establish itself with a permanent representation to the European institutions.
This representation has the task of informing the authorities about the events in our country and more generally about the events in the Near and Middle East.
We have been working in the European Parliament with political groups, and since 2004 have created a Kurdish friendship group, composed primarily of elected GUE, Greens, Liberal and Socialist parties.
Our mission is to organize press conferences to draw attention to the Kurdish question and reach a democratic solution to the Kurdish question.
Our party is a member of the Socialist International and is associated to the European Socialists PES. Besides, our European representative is also a member of the Presidency of the PES.
In the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, we work jointly with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.
At the same time, we have been conducting information campaigns with the various embassies of the Council of Europe.
During the Parliamentary Assemblies of the Council of Europe, including the parliamentary delegations of Member States, four of our national deputies are in the Left political group.
Representation of the elected our party is in the national delegation of Turkey and is part of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.
Our party represents a group of 59 members in the Grand national Assembly of Turkey and is the tirth political force in the country.
In terms of regional representatives, we are the largest party in the Northern Kurdistan region, officially named “East and Southeast of Turkey.”
Our party has emerged stronger in recent elections, despite the general and massive electoral fraud and significant tensions that spawned, and the thousands of our leaders, elected officials and members, who are in prison since the last election.
In recent elections, we also applied the system of co-chairmanship in all municipalities and regions of Northern Kurdistan. In order of percentage of elected women, we are the first party in Turkey.
